From the Heart of France to the Heart of Istria
The story of Domaine Koquelicot begins with a desire to create wines that unite two cultures, two terroirs, and two philosophies of life.
After years spent in France, absorbing the knowledge, style, and sensibility of the world’s most renowned wine regions, the winery’s owners decided to bring that experience to a new location – Istria. Drawn by its beauty, authenticity, and winemaking potential, they found their home atop the village of Brdo, where the inspiring views, soil, and climate offer ideal conditions for viticulture.
The name Koquelicot, the French word for poppy flower, symbolizes the connection between past and present, the tenderness of nature, freedom of expression, and the beauty of simplicity – values that are poured into every bottle of their wine.
