With 60 hectares of vineyards and an annual production of up to 330,000 liters of wine, Galić Winery is now embarking on an exciting new chapter with the launch of their CODE sparkling wine label.

Location

Galić Winery is located in Kutjevo, at the heart of Vallis Aurea, a region known as the cradle of Croatian winemaking. This area boasts a rich history of viticulture, dating back to 1232 when Cistercian monks built an abbey and wine cellar here. Today, Galić Winery stands as a symbol of modernity and tradition, merging advanced winemaking techniques with the legacy of the region.

The Story

The Galić family has lived and breathed wine for generations. Their journey began when Josip Galić’s grandfather, Rudolf, grew 300 vines in Mamići, Hercegovina, and continued when his parents, Stjepan and Anica, purchased their first vineyard in 1970. As a child, Josip absorbed the love for viticulture while helping his family in the vineyards, planting the seeds for his future endeavors in the wine industry. After a successful career in other businesses, Josip returned to his roots and founded one of the most modern wineries in Croatia.

Vineyard

With 60 hectares of vineyards, Galić Winery can produce up to 330,000 liters of wine annually. The winery’s approach is driven by Josip Galić’s passion for improvement, constantly experimenting with clones of native grape varieties and new techniques to elevate the quality of their wines. Although based in Kutjevo, Galić has also invested in other regions of Croatia suitable for wine production, extending the family’s influence across the country.
