The Story

Founded in 2020, Royal Hill represents one of Croatia’s most ambitious wine-growing projects. With the goal of reviving the esteemed tradition of Erdut wines—once enjoyed in European royal courts—the winery aims to produce high-quality wines using state-of-the-art technology and acclaimed enological methods. The winery’s commitment to excellence is reflected in its team, including prominent enologists like Ivona Jeličić and Eric Moro, both of whom bring global expertise to the operation. Additionally, the decision to construct a hyper-modern winery designed by the architectural firm “2 arhitekta – Zidarić” further underscores their vision for innovation and quality. Set to open in 2023, this facility aims to become a notable tourist destination in Slavonia.

Vineyard

The Royal Hill estate covers 45 hectares of prime vineyard land situated on the elevated southern slopes of “King’s Hill” in Erdut. The vineyards benefit from an exceptional position overlooking the Danube River, with diverse microclimates that enhance grape quality. The mineral-rich soils and favorable sun exposure create ideal conditions for cultivating a variety of premium grape types.
