Coletti Winery is located in the charming village of Hrastje on the scenic slopes of Plešivica. Their winery is a true reflection of the rich wine-growing heritage of Bregovita Hrvatska. Like many local producers, they cultivate a variety of grape types typical for the area, including Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and ancient regional varieties.
The Kolarić Winery is situated along the Plešivica wine route, a picturesque area in the smallest wine region of Croatia. Although modest in size, Plešivica is renowned for its high-quality sparkling wines. The 6 hectares of Kolarić vineyards are spread across the rolling hills of Plešivica, offering an ideal environment for grape growing and winemaking.
Franjo Kolarić, the founder of Kolarić Winery, has become a leading Croatian producer of Pinot Grigio. His passion for viticulture and winemaking led him to create the Coletti label, which includes a selection of premium sparkling and still wines. Over the years, Kolarić’s wines, particularly his Pinot Grigio varieties, have gained widespread recognition, establishing a strong presence in restaurants along the Adriatic coast and in Zagreb. His innovative approach to winemaking, including the use of amphora fermentation and techniques like cold maceration, has further solidified his reputation. Despite challenges such as the 2020 crisis, Kolarić has diversified his market, making his wines accessible in supermarkets and exporting to various countries, ensuring the winery’s growth and resilience.
Kolarić’s vineyards cover 6 hectares in the heart of Plešivica. The winery grows both indigenous Plešivica grape varieties and international favorites such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay. In the Kolarić wine cellar, a 1,200-liter amphora plays a key role in the production of some of the winery’s finest wines. Grapes ferment in the amphora for two years, followed by aging in wooden barrels, resulting in complex wines like the Coletti Amphora Pinot Grigio. The winery’s dedication to traditional and modern techniques allows it to produce wines that are full-bodied, aromatic, and reflective of Plešivica’s unique terroir.
